is it still possible to get 8 track tapes?

I've never tried the 8-track in the bird, but I think it works. I have the original Henry Mancini tape that came with the car, but it's full of gook and I wouldn't attempt to play it. Is it possible to buy 8-tracks? Would they still have any intergrity? Too bad I chucked away hundreds in the 80s.
Thanks,
Tom

It's kind of ironic. There are a number of 8 track tapes in my attic. My wife inherited them when her dad passed. I've never owned an 8-track tape player. I doubt if they're any good anymore, they've been up there for 10 years. I'll ask her if she would like to get rid of them if you're interested. Let me know, just post in the messages.

Do a Google search for '8-track heaven' - there is a website dedicated to 8-track tape players and tapes by this name or something similar. One of our long-time local members in Kansas City told me about this yesterday.

If you are interested, I have over 100 8tracks for sale and cases to store them. I also have a tape repair kit, and two players, one for home stereo and one portable. $5 a piece for the tapes, $20 for each case, $20 for the portable player, $20 for the repair kit, $50 for the stereo player.

I might be interested in a week or two. I'm having a bit of an ordeal with my car. Once the smoke clears (literally), thanks to an ignorant gas attendand and my laziness. I'd like to buy some tapes and cases.
Would you have an 8-track recorder? I wouldn't mind hooking that up to my I-tunes and make my own custom tapes.
Thanks,
Tom
